The department of medicinal chemistry made great strides in the 2022-23 academic year and enjoyed a record-setting year in multiple categories. Here are a few of the major achievements:
- Increased research funding by more than $1 million over the previous year
- Secured a record $8.2 million in research funding in fiscal year 2022-23
- Published 95 scientific papers
- Four Ph.D. graduates secured jobs at Harvard, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and in private industry
- Filed 23 new U.S. patent applications
- Issued five new U.S. patents
- Entered six license and option agreements with companies
