Dr. Yousong Ding’s manuscript makes cover of European journal of chemical biology

ChemBioChem coverA manuscript submitted by medicinal chemistry assistant professor Yousong Ding, Ph.D., made the cover of a European journal of chemical biology, “ChemBioChem.” The synthetic biology and bio-nanotechnology journal selected the manuscript as part of “ChemBioTalents,” which aims to showcase innovative research of a group of globally pre-selected young chemical biologists.

The manuscript titled “A Promiscuous Cytochrome P450 Hydroxylates Aliphatic and Aromatic C-H Bonds of Aromatic 2,5-Diketopiperazines” additionally was designated a “very important paper.” Contributing to the study are medicinal chemistry graduate students Guangde Jiang and Yi Zhang, undergraduates Magan M. Powell and Sarah M. Hylton, and Pharm.D. student Nicholas W. Hiller. Rosemary Loria, Ph.D., a professor and chair of the department of plant pathology at UF’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, also contributed to the study.
